Ain’t No Party Like a Polka Dot Party
I’m rocking two of my favorite fashion tricks in one blog post:
- I’m wearing wide leg pants, not a skirt! Nothing makes me happier than doing a high-kick in what appears to be a skirt, only to surprise and delight onlookers with pants.
- I’m not wearing a jumpsuit. These are actually separates. And they don’t even match perfectly! If you’re ever craving the jumpsuit look, but don’t want to commit to being naked in a public restroom, try a matching set instead.
Transitioning to fall fashion is really hard for me. As a California native, I always forget that as the seasons change, so must your wardrobe. Even though I’ve lived in New York City for almost 8 years, I still forget how to dress once colder weather hits. I’m either overly bundled in October, or still rocking bare legs in January. Plus, it’s always a challenge to trade my bright summer prints for fall-appropriate neutral tones (so sometimes, I just don’t!).
The last surprise in this post: this is just a boring leather jacket with a faux fur collar safety-pinned to it. I bought a dirt cheap faux fur jacket, cut the collar off, pinned it to an old leather jacket, and boom: super cool new piece of outerwear.
