Italiano Dreamin’ in a Matching Set

I’m calling it: it’s officially summer in NYC. We’ve been suffocating through 90 degree days for the past week, and I’m already kinda over it. It’s not summer in Brooklyn without mosquito bites, streaky sunscreen, and stinky subway cars. Buuuuut with summer also comes bright colors, funky prints, and…matching sets. There’s something so retro cool about a matching set—I’ve written about them before, and I’m sure I’ll write about them again. Even if it was made today, a co-ord set evokes an effortless and ultra feminine 50’s vibe. I also love that you can wear the pieces separately if you’re not in a matchy matchy mood.

The matching set I’m wearing below, courtesy of c/o Tobi, is super soft chambray and its high-waist cut hugs your curves is all the right places. The collarbone exposing style of the top is super flattering too.

I dialed up the retro vibe with this little leopard scarf and straw boater. And I added the red accent accessories because you know I can’t resist Americana dressing. K, I’m gonna go sip a cappuccino and pretend I’m jetting off to the Italian Riviera, see ya 👋.
