Home on the Ranch
Did you know that I grew up in California? Probably not ’cause of my hard-edged-super-tough New York attitude, but I did. I grew up in the South Bay, near Palo Alto, the town now synonymous with a little company called Facebook. I try to get back there at least twice a year to visit my folks and see my old friends.
I’m not gonna lie, my style totally shifts depending on where I am traveling. When I’m in California, my style is much more casual—jeans, tees, sneakers. And when I’m in nature, I pull out the Southwestern wear—boots, bandanas, and cowboy hats. In this look below, I’m definitely leaning on that Southwestern vibe. There’s something so effortless to this kind of style, I wish I could pull it off all the time.
The first exciting thing about this post is that I finally bought a pair of Madewell jeans. I rarely wear jeans, so even though ladies rave about Madewell, I just never saw the point of even trying them. And then I did, and now I understand the hype. This style is called the “Flea Market” and they really are the perfect high-rise flare. They’re snug in all the right places, and the material feels like buttah. They also appear to be on super sale right now!
The second amazing thing is that I found you the exact same vintage sweater that I’m wearing! It’s on Etsy right here. This NEVER happens. It really frustrates me when I’m wearing vintage and I can’t find you a similar item. So you can only imagine how elated I was to find you the exact same piece. Someone go buy it ASAP so we can be twinsies .

I’ve heard such good things about Madewell!
Me too! I can’t believe it took me so long to try them!
You look like a city girl to me. I did not know you’re from CA 😊
Had no idea you were from CA!
Love the style of jeans – I wanna start trying different styles outside of the skinny that I normally wear
I usually wear either skinny jeans, wide leg, or flares. It’s fun to change up the style of denim every so often!
Ok I’ll hit the I believe button, those Madewell jeans are too good.
Came here just to say how much I love your outfit
Aww thanks Cris! Glad you’re reading along :o)
Oh…woah. You were talking about how well the jeans fit and I’m sitting here thinking “yeah but most don’t fit my booty and my little waist” and then I saw your pictures. I’m thinking I need to check those jeans out ASAP!
It sounds like we have the same problem: big booties and small waists (although, I’d argue that this isn’t really a problem per say!)
