Outfit Posts of 2017: Round Up

Whew, you guys. I’m actually getting kind of teary eyed looking back on this year. I learned so friggin’ much—not only about blogging in general, but about my own personal style and what makes me feel confident and badass. This year I brought you 65 blog posts, 6 YouTube videos, 15 ‘Get Dressed With Me’ Insta Stories, 383 Instagram posts, and 1 Instagram Live. Not to pat myself too hard on the back, but goddamn, that’s a boatload of content. Most of you guys know I don’t do this full time—I have a career (that I love) outside of blogging. And this blogging side hustle is a hustle. It’s challenging and frustrating and rewarding and inspiring, all at the same time.

Although my blog technically started in 2016, this was the year I feel like I really hit my stride. I learned more about what I don’t like to do (collaborate with huge faceless brands) and what I do like to do (partner with small businesses and female entrepreneurs). I also thought a lot about what I want to bring you in the next year: more video content—both on stories and on YouTube.

Before I blab any further, I have to thank my endlessly supportive husband. He shoots my photos even when he’s tired (read: hungover) and grumpy. And he doesn’t complain (too much) when I want to stay in or stay up editing and writing. I also want to thank all the rad brands and companies I collaborated with this year—I had so much fun working with all of you.

But mostly, I have to thank you. Every single one of you who read and comment on my blog posts, Instagrams photos, Facebook posts, and YouTube videos. Every DM I receive, every #ootd y’all tag me in. I f*cking cherish them all. I get so much joy over your sartorial experimentation and self-confidence, I want to shout it from the rooftops.

This year I had some high highs: I started creating video (eee!), collaborated with a few notable brands, partnered with vintage sellers and lovers, met some rad blogger babes, and was even recognized on the street once. In my personal life: I pivoted careers (more on that another time if anyone’s interested), watched my BFF get married, hosted 9 events for Ladies, Wine & Design (a creative community I help run), acted in my first commercial (!), and travelled to 10 different states including Alaska.

But I also had some lows, which I’m not vocal about, of course: I had some shitty health scares (I’m fine), dealt with family conflict, and faced a lot of escalating anxiety that seems to be a constant battle. For most people I know, this year was a tough one. The current political climate (a nice way of saying the Cheeto Child in the white house) has cast a dark and shameful shadow over this country. But I’m looking forward to 2018—with all it’s impending challenges and opportunities.

And now, without further adieu, here are all my outfits posts of 2017. Click any of the photos to go to the blog post for more details. I can’t wait to bring you more epic shit in 2018. Thank you for being here my friends, I love you.
