Confession: Up until a few months ago, the last time I wore Tevas, I was a kid. Like, a single digits kid. But Tevas have been coming back in a major way these past few years (thanks, I’m sure, to a genius marketing team). And I want in on this comeback.
When planning our trip to the Virgin Islands earlier this year, I knew Tevas would be on our packing list. I opted for two different pairs: The Midform Universal (below in pink) and the Terra Float 2 Knit Universal (below in white). I initially wanted to be able to give you a recommendation of one style over another. But honestly, I found both pairs equally comfortable and cute. The only downside to the Terra Float is that they take slightly longer to dry because the footbed is covered in a soft fabric.
Now that I’m back from the BVIs, I can confirm that Tevas really are the perfect summer vacation shoe. I wore them every single day on our sailing trip. And I’ve been wearing them nonstop all over the city since they arrived. It turns out, they’re actually just the perfect summer anything shoe. I know I talk a lot about function over fashion—that if something isn’t comfortable (or doesn’t make sense from a functionality standpoint), don’t buy it, because you won’t wear it. Thoughtfulness in functionality is something I’m really passionate about! I love brands that care about how their customers use their products (omg could I be more of a UX designer right now, lol). And Teva easily falls into that category.
I’m on a one-woman mission to make Tevas the summer shoe of summer. But if you join me, we’ll get there a lot faster. I know some of you have already jumped on the Teva train, thanks for all your DMs. If you buy some, let me know which ones you go for, and what kind of outfits you’re putting together!
