It seems like the last trend round up I posted was also a boot edit… Shrug* this girl loves her boots in the winter, so… I’m not gonna hide it. You’ve probably know this by now, but I love when a trend rolls around that is not just cute, but actually super functional. Case in point: the hiker boot trend.
When I first moved to New York City, my biggest sartorial lesson was Wear. Comfortable. Shoes. If you live in NYC, or you’ve ever visited, then you know how much you walk every day. I quickly learned (after one too many bandaid-covered limpy blocks) that comfortable shoes are an absolute necessity to a New Yorker. And it’s not just walkability that matters, but also, seasonality. You absolutely must wear warm boots in the winter, because New York winters are real winter. Not whatever this “California winter” is. [Seriously, it’s still 60 degrees over here?] Let’s just say my first New York November was a rough (read: cold) one.
Now, just because I’m no longer a current New Yorker (I recently met someone who referred to themselves as an “reformed-New Yorker” and I’m stealing it), doesn’t mean I can’t also partake in cold weather appropriate trends. And this winter, I’m definitely not watching the hiker boot trend from the bench.
Scroll down to shop my favorite hiker boots from ’round the Internet. Disclaimer: some of these boots are not actually meant for active wear. Hike at your own risk :o)
